Do you have so much stuff that you don't know what to do with it? Come to our…

Garage Sale Pack Night!

When? _________________________
Where? _________________________
Who? _________________________

We'll be collecting new/nearly new coats, clothing, shoes, etc for: _________________________________________ Also, if you have toys, movies (PG or G rated only), games, costumes, etc., that you don't use anymore, bring them for the Cub Scout Garage Sale!

Check this out!!!

You will receive "Akela Money" for every item that you bring (for the clothing drive or the Garage Sale) to buy whatever you want from the Garage Sale! The more you bring, the more Akela Bucks you'll get! Brothers and sisters can earn Akela Bucks, too!**

**Make sure that your parents OK the things you want to donate. Bring kids stuff only for the Garage Sale (no house stuff, pots, pans, etc.)

3. Use play money or print several pages of these "Akela Bucks".

4. On the day of the Pack Night have the kids bring the items they will donate in a bag labeled with their name.

5. Have the boys take their bags to a room (different form the one you are having the Pack Night) where a helper(s) can determine how many "Akela Bucks" each kid will get. Have the helper(s) put the kids "money" in an envelope labeled with the cubs name and amount they get.

6. Have the helper(s) separate the clothes for the clothing drive to one side and price the toys the kids brought for the Garage Sale. Instead of taking the time to price every item, you can make $1, $2, etc. signs and pile the toys around the signs according to size, etc.

7. Have the helper bring you the "money" envelopes to the Pack Night room.

8. Donate any left over items to the Salvation Army, Good Will, etc. Have fun!

Ideas:

  • We are having our sale in December. I contacted the Young Women leaders in our ward and they offered to help us with our Garage Sale. They even offered to make treats for the sale!
  • We will have a box where the Young Women can put any questionable toys (such as an action figure of an evil looking creature with blood dripping from his mouth! We got one of those donated to the NURSERY once!), or any questionable movies, books, etc. We will not include these in the Garage Sale. The owners can choose to take them home at the end of the sale (or we will happily take them on a one way trip to the trash can!)
  • You can wrap some knicks knack in newspaper and make girl and boy surprise bags for the sale.
